  • Judge, Sarah Mumford, recently gave birth to a baby boy. Nathan Jacob Mumford was born Tuesday, 3/16 at 7:57am.  He weighed 8lbs 3oz and was 20.5 inches long. Check out his pictures in the Photos section

  • Kudo's to Urban Expressions, Riverton High School, and Weber State University's Fusion on their success at he WGI Southern California Power Regional. WSU Fusion received the highest score of the season. Riverton competed in a class higher than here and still had the best run and score of the season. Urban Expressions placed 2nd in the IA division.
  • Utah Valley University's IA unit, Envision, placed 1st at the WGI Phoenix Regional. This is a great place to be for their journey to WGI Championships in Dayton.
  • Congratulations to IA's Urban Expressions on their impressive WGI San Diego Power Regional 1st Place Championship! UEX will next travel with WSU Fusion and Riverton High School to the WGI Rancho Cucamonga Power Regional. UVU's Envision will be traveling to WGI's Regional in Phoenix. Good luck to all of these teams!

  • The UWGA  wishes to congratulate Fairfield Jr. High School on their promotion to Scholastic Regional A for the remainder of the season.  We would also like to congratulate Westlake High School on their promotion to Scholastic Regional AA. Congratulations to the performers, instructors, and designers and we wish you the best of luck in your new class of competition.

  • The Heather Christensen Memorial Scholarship Placque was presented to her family at the Orem Show. Scholarship Applications are available in the Resources section.

.: WGI scholastic eligibility rule

After many years of discussion on WGI’s scholastic eligibility rule, the board of directors has drawn new guidelines for high school competition at their recent annual meeting. Click here for more information and recent clarifications.

.: Traveling out-of-state this year

Are you planning on going to a competition out-of-state this year? Please email us to keep us informed so we can follow your journeys and maybe we can network together to make those trips more cost effective.

 

In a tragic accident, UWGA's Contest Director and unit member, Wasatch Academy co-director, Heather Christensen, passed away on Saturday, October 10th returning from a marching band competition in Idaho with the American Fork High School. She will missed by all who had the fortune to know and work with her.
